The fold-change after septic injury and fungal natural infection compared to uninfected flies for selected DIRGs is shown. Time intervals after infection are indicated in hours on the top. The length of predicted small peptides (in amino acids) is shown. The GOIDs are references to entries in the GeneOntology index of molecular functions and biological processes. The four genes marked with an asterix do not fulfill the general threshold criteria we used to select DIRGs because they were highly induced at only one time point. We have included them in this figure because their sequence suggests a role in the immune response.
